Apple says 'iPhone X' won't be called 'iPhone 10 Plus'

Apple has said that it will not be calling its upcoming flagship smartphone the 'iPhone 10 Plus'. Instead, it will simply be called 'iPhone X', as was rumored earlier this year.
In a tweet on Thursday afternoon, Apple's vice president of marketing Phil Schiller confirmed that the name of the phone would indeed be iPhone X. He also said that the device will feature an OLED display and will be available for preorder starting on October 27th, with shipping beginning on November 3rd.
Apple has been rumored to be working on a new smartphone with a nearly all-screen design since at least last fall. The device was widely expected to feature an OLED display and to be called the 'iPhone 10 Plus'. However, earlier this year Apple CEO Tim Cook said that the company had no plans to launch a new iPhone with such features.
However, it appears that Cook's comments were not entirely accurate. While Schiller did not provide any details on the iPhone X other than its name and display technology, he did confirm that Apple is working on a new smartphone design, which will feature an all-screen design and an OLED display. He also said that the device will be available for preorder starting on October 27th, with shipping beginning on November 3rd.
It is not yet clear what the iPhone X will cost or whether it will replace any existing models in Apple's product lineup. The company has not yet announced a price or release date for the device.
